All water bodies must be maintained for conserving water and sustenance of eco-system. Pallikaranai Marsh should be made into a shallow water boating extravaganza with boarding/exit points at important locations on the edges on the lines seen in Europe, especially Germany on Rhine. The revenue will help maintain the marsh. IT Companies on the periphery that will benefit from the waterway should be made to contribute under CSR.

The Special Tahsildar(Land Acqusition)MMRD acquired 200 Feet broad area behind the existing Ramaniyam Auroville(12stories) in 1987 and compensation was also paid to the land owner by the Goverment. The Chennai One IT Park appears to be misusing this Government land for parking their vehicles, since the proposed Road was subsequently
shifted towards North to avoid inconvenience to the existing village. This Government Land should be restored to Government, for public purpose, including location of office of the Tahsildar, which is proposed to be constructed in the Marsh,as mentioned by the Media.

The drainage to this marsh area should be treated before letting them inside. Waste water if any, can be used to water the trees. ( first plant samplings around the area). Lot of good housing societies are coming up around the marsh. They can b e involved in preserving/ maintaining the marsh. First AVOID dumping of DRAINAGE & corporation waste in the marsh.
