It should not be dominated/encroached by hawkers. They should be treated fairly and asked to move to a safe place at a reasonable cost. They should not be allowed to come back to sidewalk and allow others (new hawkers) to take over the previously vacated spots. I'm not even talking about T.NAgar or the likes. This is true even in well planned Annanagar where the 2nd Ave / Shanti (???) colony have become commercial high street shopping places and unable to cope with the crowds.
